Is it paranoid to suggest psychiatrists are secretly conspiring to make me crazy?

Psych Interview Evaluation #1

Dr. Attending:   The only problem was you started with “What brings you here?”  Think about it – how can you understand a patient’s current episode if you don’t know where they came from?  Always start with their social history.  I want you to work on that, okay?

Me:  Oh.  Okay.

Psych Interview Evaluation #2

Dr. Other Attending:  You did such a good job with that patient!

Me:  Oh, good – thanks.

Dr. Other Attending:  Except for opening with the social history.  You have to start with a broad, open-ended question – how else will you understand their thought process?  Why don’t you try starting with “What brings you here?”  I want you to try that.

Me:

I hate you all.

Dr. Other Attending: … What, did I say something?
